Audition Material Database

If you are coming to this camp without any material already in your “back pocket” (again - no problem if that’s the case!) we’ve compiled a list of some suggestions for potential material for your monologue packages. The only common ground with these texts - they are plays we like, and we think have some excellent roles for young people.

We’ve separated this database into classical and contemporary options. Some of these monologues are suited for particular performers — ie, characters who are a specific racial or gender identity, etc — and some of them have more flexibility in the identity of the character and/or the actor who might wish to perform this piece. We’ll do our best to mark those as best we can.

Please note: some of these skew a bit “PG-13” in terms of language and content.

CONTEMPORARY MONOLOGUES
