Voice + Movement Instructor, Young Company
Maria Carroll (she/her) is an actor/dancer/teaching artist based in Philadelphia. Maria started her professional career as a college apprentice with Pennsylvania Theatre Institute and is beyond excited to be back on the PTI team as the Young Company Voice and Movement Instructor!
Maria graduated West Chester University in 2019 with a BA in Theatre & Dance. Through her academic career, she was involved in multiple productions focusing on different facets of theater including performance, choreography, management, education, design, and direction. In her professional career, along with PTI, she is currently a full-time staff member at the Lantern Theater Company as an Administrative and Artistic Associate. Maria has also had the opportunity to work with theaters and programs in and around the Philadelphia area such as 1812, Dancing with the Students, Delaware Theater Company, Wolf Performing Arts Center and the Walnut Street Theater.
Maria is generous, enthusiastic, and passionate when it comes to teaching and learning new things about her craft. Her classes will have you on your feet moving through the space, stretching, dancing, laughing and so much more. Maria’s ultimate goal is to empower you as a camper to make big choices in the classroom and explore your imagination through the lens of voice and movement!
